Last week, Elijah, Nate, and myself flew down south to attend a conference for homeschoolers. Part of the conference required them to dress up as a figure from American history during the 1700’s. As you can imagine, there were tons of George Washington’s, Ben Franklins, and Ulysses S. Grants. My boys chose to pair up as Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, the explorers who mapped the Louisiana Territory west of the Mississippi River. The boys were thrilled to find that they were the ONLY Lewis and Clark at the conference!
With a lot of help from a friend in our city (thanks T!!), we were able to put together some really cute costumes. The boys had to walk across stage and introduce themselves to the crowd and then later stand next to a scrapbook that they had created about the life of their figure and answer questions. Both boys did great, and I was beaming with pride!
